Client Assessment Procedures

Our Assessment procedures are identified as follows:-

Initial Enquiry

Made by telephone between the prospective Client and our Therapist.

Prospective Clients must telephone Westcliffe House, Monday to Thursday between 12noon and 1.30pm on 01934 629897.

Where required, permission to access Clients medical, forensic and social histories may be obtained.

Full Assessment

Attendance at Westcliffe is required for approximately two hours. Assessments comprise of the following three components:-

  1. Interview session with senior therapist/s
  2. Informal meeting with Client
  3. Viewing the premises At the end of the assessment the Client will be informed whether they are to be offered a place at Westcliffe.

Should a Client’s history be required, the assessments outcome may be delayed, but a full explanation will be provided at the time.

Confirmation of Funding

The Referrer must provide confirmation of funding in writing to Westcliffe House.

Contract of Acceptance

 Will be issued to the prospective Clients, prior to entry. A reminder of the house rules and guidelines will also be provided.

Admission

All Clients will be subject to a drug and alcohol test upon arrival at Westcliffe. Clients proving a positive result to these tests will forfeit their placement in the house. After testing is complete the Client will be taken through Westcliffe’s internal procedures (Befriender policies and all the house policies and procedures) External procedures will also be confirmed (Referrer, DSS, Doctor, etc)
