Personal Relationships
Within this group, clients are asked to explore their experiences of intimate relationships, within their family of origin, parents, siblings, main carers etc; with adult partners and with their children.

The quality of bonding is carefully considered, systemic patterns of behaviours and strategies for making change. Once again the role of alcohol and drugs is taken into account with clients identifying triggers for substance mis-use.

It is very often within this group that clients come to the recognition that the most intimate relationship has been with the drug of their choice. The model used for this group is based on several psychological approaches and the Relate training on building effective, intimate relationships.
