Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation
Westcliffe has a programme that is different and individual because it recognises that people are different and have different therapeutic/learning needs.
Westcliffe is highly staffed (ratio of 1 therapist to every 4/5 clients).
Each therapist has their own area of expertise, both in terms of post-graduate qualification and experience in the field. You will see this in the Staff Profiles.
By having such a wide variety of skills, we are able to provide each client with the best possible opportunity to address not only their addiction/s but also personal traumas and events which they have found difficult to manage in the past.
Westcliffe takes the focus beyond your addiction – the programme is a combination of intensive personal therapy combined with teaching new skills for personal and professional development.
Each client is asked at the Assessment stage to identify their particular needs in terms of the issues they need to address in their therapy and in terms of the personal skills that need to be developed. These issues could include Literacy Skills, Anxiety, Stress Management, Assertiveness, Anger Management, Communication Skills, Decision Making, Basic Relapse Prevention, Personal/Interpersonal skills, Motivational-Decision Making, Team Development, Computers Skills and many more.
The end result is that clients develop an individual learning contract with the Westcliffe House and this is reviewed on a 4-6 weekly basis. It also means that there is more attention to the individual, with session mainly undertaken with small groups (4-6 people) or held on an individual basis.
The difference is tremendous in that a programme is designed to meet your personal requirements where possible rather than you fitting in with a standardised programme.
