Your Path to Recovery: The Admissions Process
Starting treatment can feel overwhelming, but at Westcliffe, we’ve made the admissions process as straightforward and supportive as possible. Our goal is to quickly and confidentially determine if our specialist program is the right fit for your unique needs.
Here is the simple four-step journey to starting your residential treatment.
Step 1: Confidential Contact & Initial Assessment
Your first step is simply reaching out. This is a no-obligation, confidential conversation with one of our experienced admissions specialists.
- We Listen: We take the time to listen to your current situation, substance use history, and primary concerns.
- We Assess Fit: We use this information to determine your clinical needs and ensure that Westcliffe’s program—including our specialist support for secondary issues—is the best therapeutic environment for you.
- Timeframe: This conversation usually takes 30–45 minutes.
Step 2: Formal Clinical Review & Funding
Once the initial fit is confirmed, we proceed to the formal planning stage to secure your place.
- Detailed Clinical Review: If required, we will request copies of assessments that have been undertaken by Referring Agencies, Detox/Hospital Units together with any clinical assessments involving your physical/mental health as these will help us to ensure that your programme at Westcliffe is reflective of your individual need.
- Funding Confirmation: We will discuss payment options, including private admission costs or assistance with verifying coverage through specific private health insurance plans. We aim to make this process as transparent as possible.
- Setting the Date: Once funding is confirmed, a specific admission date is secured for your arrival.
Step 3: Pre-Admission Support
We will ensure you are fully prepared and feel supported leading up to your arrival date.
- What to Bring: We provide a comprehensive list of what you should bring (and what you should leave at home) to make your stay comfortable.
- Travel Arrangements: We can assist with planning your travel to Westcliffe House, ensuring your arrival is as stress-free as possible.
- House Rules: You will receive a copy of our house rules and program expectations, ensuring nothing is hidden or a surprise on arrival.
Step 4: Arrival and Personalized Care Plan
The day you arrive marks the beginning of your recovery journey.
- Welcome and Orientation: You will be greeted by a member of our compassionate support team who will help you settle into your private room and introduce you to the environment.
- The Care Team Meeting: Immediately, you will meet your primary counsellor and clinical team. This team will finalize your Individual Care Plan, ensuring your treatment is tailored from Day One to achieve your personal recovery goals.
