Our latest group of  Clients took park in their first outdoor learning session with Goblin Coombe, who have worked closely with Westcliffe House over the last 20 years, to provided clients with an opportunity to reconnect with nature, learn new skills, and experience the therapeutic benefits of the natural environment.

Clients spent time exploring the world around them, learning about trees, birds, and the basics of foraging while developing a greater appreciation for nature and its positive impact on wellbeing. The group enjoyed identifying local wildlife, sharing knowledge, and discovering how spending time outdoors can promote mindfulness, reduce stress, and support recovery.

Some of the clients have not experienced being outside in the countryside before ,or for many years, and comment on how learning about the flora and fauna feeds into their sense of wellbeing. By working together, clients developed practical skills, built confidence, and experienced the sense of achievement that comes from creating and sharing a meal in the outdoors.

The session was enjoyed by everyone who attended and demonstrated how connecting with nature can support personal growth, wellbeing, and recovery while fostering a sense of community and belonging.
